[Internetsociety] Uitnodiging: Seminar over e-formulieren en apps

Op vrijdag 22 november 2013 organiseert Internet Society Nederland
samen met webstandaardenorganisatie W3C Benelux en CM Pro bij het CWI
in Amsterdam een ochtendseminar over e-formulieren. E-formulieren nemen
snel aan belang toe in het bedrijfsleven en bij de overheid, omdat ze
zowel gebruiksvriendelijk als goedkoop zijn om in te zetten - en zelfs
makkelijk ingezet kunnen worden in bijvoorbeeld mobiele apps en zelfs
in office-documenten.

Sprekers zijn onder meer Steven Pemberton (voorzitter van de
internationale XForms Working Group van het World Wide Web Consortium,
W3C), Nick van den Bleeken (Inventive Designers), Jelle de
Haan (Enigmatry) en Johan Blok (CM Pro). 

Centraal in de bijeenkomst staat de W3C-standaard XForms waarmee
formulieren en applicaties snel en eenvoudig online worden gezet. De
kracht van XForms komt vooral naar voren in de versimpeling die
het oplevert voor wat anders complexe toepassingen zouden
zijn geweest. XForms abstraheert veel ingebouwde functionaliteit van
e-formulieren en neemt dus veel overhead van een applicatie uit
handen. Daardoor kunnen applicaties snel en eenvoudig worden
ontwikkeld, en bovendien ook gemakkelijk en zonder noemenswaardige
programmeerkennis worden onderhouden. Vanzelfsprekend kunnen
XForms-formulieren met gemak voldoen aan alle eisen met betrekking tot
toegankelijkheid, zoals de Webrichtlijnen. 

Het programma is gericht op beslissers in de IT maar ook andere
geinteresseerden zijn van harte welkom. De ochtend wordt georganiseerd
op het Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam. Toegang is
gratis na registratie.

About the speakers
------------------

Steven Pemberton is a researcher at CWI, the national centre for
mathematics and computer science in Amsterdam. His research is in
interaction, and how the underlying software architecture can support
users. He co-designed the ABC programming language that formed the
basis for Python. Involved with the Web since the beginning, he
organised two workshops at the first Web Conference in 1994, and
chaired the first W3C Style Sheets and Internationalisation workshops.
For the best part of a decade he chaired the W3C HTML working group,
and has co-authored many web standards, including HTML, XHTML, CSS,
XForms and RDFa. He now chairs the W3C Forms working group, and is a
member of the ODF (Open Document Format) technical committee. He speaks
and writes regularly on the effects of technology design.

Nick van den Bleeken:  "After receiving my masters degree in Computer
Science in Antwerp I joined Inventive Designers in 2001. As R&D manager
I strongly believe in using and developing open standards. Since 2005
I’m a member of the XForms Working Group at W3C. I became an editor of
the XForms specification in 2010. Recently I joined both the Web
Cryptography and CSS Working Groups at W3C. I like doing
standardisation work and like talking about standards and technology in
general with other people. To reach even more people I started speaking
about open standards and how they are used by Inventive Designers at
conferences like XML Prague and XML London. Working for Inventive
Designers as a researcher ensures that I can work together with people
that love to innovate and like working with the latest technologies in
a vibrant atmosphere. "

Johan Blok: For the last fifteen years I have been involved in the
Content Management domain in many different roles (product manager,
channel manager, chief strategy officer). In 2013, I founded CM Pro, a
consulting firm focussing on web content management. The power of
content continues to amaze me. It is my goal and challenge to help
other companies to maximize the value and impact of their content. And
it is very rewarding to see organizations harvest benefits of a good
content management strategy. CM Pro offers information-centric
organizations support regarding content management and information
management. CM Pro offers expertise regarding web forms based on the
XForms standard.

Jelle de Haan is CEO at Enigmatry in Rotterdam, a company specialised
in business solutions for cooperation and connecting people. Enigmatry
means ‘art of solving puzzles’. Its customers include AFM, AkzoNobel,
Erasmus MC, Ernst & Young, Lloyd’s Register, Ministerie van BZK and
Nederlandse Spoorwegen.  Jelle holds an MBA at the Rotterdam School of
Managment (Erasmus University) and an MSc in Computer Science at Delft
University of Technology. Prior to working at Enigmatry he worked at
ProRail and Q Delft.
