[Mindervuurwerk-discussie] Media reaction to burgerinitiative

To all,
I find the reaction of the media to the initiative pathetic, and frankly
disgusting.
What should it even matter anyway if such a plea from ordinary citizens
is not exactly 'to the letter of the law' ? Doesn't everyone (people and
government alike) have a stake in a safer and more enjoyable celebration
of the new year?
To put forward that the initiative does not 'conform' is both arrogant
and irresponsible.
I have seen (in England) what fireworks can do in the wrong hands. The
appalling burn wounds, the scarring and the misery, and how a few
seconds of 'innocent fun' can result in a long legacy of suffering.
The media (if they can feel) should be deeply ashamed that they have to
bring these sort of comments up.
